We’re very honored that Thinc Design in partnership with Local Projects have been named as the designers for the World Trade Center Memorial Museum. Details are below.
We are also in the midst of a number of other projects, including media design for the National Museum of American Jewish History in a new Polshek Partnership building on the Mall in Philadelphia, and the new Museum of Chinese in the Americas, in a new Maya Lin interior.
Not surprisingly, we are hiring, see below. Since last July we’ve also had some nice additions to our team, including Burak Arikan and Bryan Ijeoma.
We hope all is well with you, and look forward to hearing from you.

Published June 6th, 2007 in news. 0 CommentsWorld Trade Center Memorial Museum Director Alice M. Greenwald said, “In Thinc and Local Projects, we believe we have identified an exceptional partner to help us deliver an extraordinary museum, one that can not only meet, but perhaps even exceed, the high expectations for the Memorial Museum dedicated to telling the story of September 11, 2001 and February 26, 1993 that we are honored to create.”

We just launched the beta version of the Public Information Exchange for the Center for Architecture. The Public Information Exchange is a hybrid digital/physical interface designed to create an archive of NYC projects, proposals, programs and exhibitions presented or discussed at the Center for Architecture. It will stimulate and record feedback for architects, planners, public officials, and the general public on projects with city-wide impact. The physical interface, pictured here, has been designed by Grimshaw Associates, and will be launched in October 2007.
You can read about the project in a Metropolis Magazine editorial.
We launched three media pieces for the groundbreaking exhibition, “Slavery and the Civil War,” at the New York Historical Society. We created a series of monologues with Danny Glover as James McCune Smith, as well as two interactive experiences: an interactive voting theater based on the first African-American Political Conventions, and the Freedom’s Journal, which allows visitors to guest edit the first African-American newspaper in America.

We’re looking for great people for positions including Senior Graphic Designer, Project Manager and Content Coordinator. If you know anyone looking for amazing opportunities to shape media in public spaces, please send them to Jobs at Local Projects.
